<p>We have all launched ourselves on the road to <a  href="javascript:;" target="_self"><u><strong><font color="#16387c">happiness</font></strong></u></a>. We are obsessed with the pursuit of it, but all too often, we become discouraged. We struggle and bumble our way along, but somehow happiness continues to elude us.</p>
<p>Part of the problem is that the term, happiness, is kind of vague. We set off on our search for it before we know what it is or how to obtain it. Many of us have created a monster with our relentless pursuit of happiness. We’ve chosen this broad and mighty goal “HAPPINESS” and then we set about trying to achieve it by eliminating all of the negative aspects of our lives, identifying our one true passion, divining our life’s purpose and setting out to achieve our life’s dreams…all before lunch. Then we wonder why it isn’t working.</p>
<p>And yet, it is true that the pursuit of happiness is worth the effort. Research has shown that positive emotions have not just the benefit of momentary pleasure, but of long-term well-being also. Positive emotions bring us pleasure, counteract the damaging effects of negative emotions, build resilience and promote long-term physical and emotional health. (See my prior post on The Power of Positive Emotions) We don’t want to give up on happiness, but we do need to find an easier way.</p>
<p>As we all know, when we have a big goal, it helps to break it down into smaller pieces. If we think of happiness as an overarching emotional state that is created by the presence of other, positive emotions, the process of achieving happiness becomes less daunting.</p>
<p>Joy, contentedness, love, interest, and satisfaction are some of the positive emotions that lead us to feel happy. The more we experience these positive emotions, the happier we’ll be.</p>
<p>Easy so far, right? But how do we cultivate positive emotions? That’s easy too, if you’re willing to let it be.</p>
<p>When we engage in activities or spend time with people (or animals) that we like, we tend to feel positive emotions. You might experience joy when you tickle your baby and make him smile, or feel interest when you read the editorial section of the paper or feel content when you snuggle up with your husband to watch a movie. There are many things in our lives that generate positive emotions. Simply put, the more time you spend engaged in activities that induce positive emotion, the more positive emotion you will feel and the more likely you will be to achieve an overall sense of happiness.</p>
<p>To get you started I’ve included a very generic list of ideas for ways that you can invite more positive emotion into your life. You will, of course, put your own, personal spin on these and identify the specific people or activities that will bring about positive emotion in you. These are just ideas to get you started thinking:</p>
<p><strong>Exercise.</strong></p>
<p>Okay, no groaning now. Exercise, beyond making you more fit, also brings about the release of endorphins. This is a “feel good” chemical that is produced in your body. Now come on, who doesn’t want to feel good? You might like lifting weights or running or prefer to join a local basketball league. Any moderately strenuous physical activity counts.</p>
<p><strong>Spend Time With Others.</strong></p>
<p>Time spent with people (not just any people, but upbeat, positive people) can bring about feelings of joy, love, interest etc. Go out with your friends, visit with family, chat with the mailman. Don’t feel like talking? Just smile at people once in a while…when they smile back, which they will do most of the time, see if it doesn’t make you feel good.</p>
<p>Don’t forget your animal friends either. Playing with the dog, watching the birds or rabbits in the back yard or even chatting with your son’s pet hamster can make you feel more content or even make you laugh. (Yes, I do talk to my son’s hamster and my daughter’s as well…is that a problem?)</p>
<p><strong>Quiet Your Mind.</strong></p>
<p>Formal meditation, prayer or even just sitting with your eyes closed for a few minutes can bring about relaxation and a sense of inner peace.</p>
<p><strong>Spend Time in Nature.</strong></p>
<p>I’ve written ad nauseum about the benefits of time spent in nature over at BetweenUsGirls. Suffice it to say that nature, whether a hike in the woods or simply gazing at the river from your office window, can bring about relaxation, feelings of connectedness, and even spark creativity. While there is much research to prove that time in or near nature has a positive impact on mood, I am sure that you don’t need proof. It isn’t often that I run across a person who hasn’t experienced the soothing effects of nature for his- or herself.</p>
<p><strong>Express Yourself.</strong></p>
<p>Creative expression of any kind (art, crafts, cooking, decorating, writing) can bring along a great deal of positive emotion. Your work doesn’t have to be good…you just have to enjoy doing it.</p>
<p><strong>Have Fun.</strong></p>
<p>This might mean making more time for your hobbies, taking up a new hobby, spending more time with friends or quick-and-easy activities like seeing a movie, going to a concert or texting back and forth with someone who always makes you laugh. Anything that engages your interest or makes you laugh or smile.</p>
<p><strong>Volunteer Work.</strong></p>
<p>Quite often, doing things that help others, brings feelings of joy and accomplishment. Making someone else feel good often makes us feel just as good.</p>
<p>Now, there you go. Seven very good general ideas that can be made into a multitude of specific ones for generating positive emotion. I’m sure that now that you’re thinking, you’ll come up with some other original ideas. If you do, share them with us…please!</p>
<p>The older I get, the more that I realize that it really is the little things that make us happy. Becoming a happier person doesn’t have to be hard work. Remember, one step at a time. Have lunch with a friend, take a walk in the woods, play with the dog, see a funny movie. Every time you engage in an activity that peaks your interest, makes you smile or gets your endorphins flowing, it’s like money in the bank. A little laugh here, a loving hug there and before you know it you’ve become the happy person you’ve always wanted to be without hardly trying.</p>

<p><strong>运动</strong></p>
<p>好了，先不要抱怨。运动除了让你更加健康之外，还可以带来内啡肽的释放。这是一种在你身体里产生的、可以使你“感觉很不错”的化学物质。现在就运动吧，有谁会不想感觉良好呢？你可能会喜欢举重，或是长跑，或是更加偏爱参加篮球队。任何适度的体育活动都是有意义的。</p>
<p><strong>与他人一起消磨时光</strong></p>
<p>与他人一起消磨时光（不是任何人，而是那些积极乐观的人们。）可以带来愉悦、爱、兴趣等情感。与朋友一同出游；和家人一同旅行；与邮差先生闲聊……不喜欢谈话？只要时不时的对人们微笑就好了……当他们也向你微笑的时候——大多数时候他们都会这样做——看看这样是否可以使你感觉不错。<br/>同时，不要忘记你的动物朋友。与小狗一同玩耍，在后院照料鸟儿或是小兔子，甚至与你儿子的宠物仓鼠交谈，这些都可以使你感到愈发的满足以至于笑出声来。（是的，我真的有同我儿子的仓鼠交谈，还有我女儿的……这有什么问题吗？）</p>
<p><strong>冷静你的头脑</strong></p>
<p>正式的默想，祈祷或者只是坐在那里闭目沉思几分钟都可以带来放松以及内心的平和。</p>
<p><strong>身处自然</strong></p>
<p>我曾经在 BetweenUsGirls上发表过一篇关于身处自然的益处的文案。进一步说，身处自然，无论是一次树林中的远足，还是简简单单的从你的办公室窗户里凝视一条河流，都可以带来轻送、满足的感觉，甚至可以激发创作的火花。有很多研究可以证明与自然共度的时光可以对人的情绪产生积极的作用，我可以肯定对于这一点你不需要更多的证据了。我很少遇见这样的人，自然的抚慰作用在他身上没有成效。</p>
<p><strong>展现自我</strong></p>

<p>这一条可能意味着你要投入更多的时间在你的爱好上，同时发现新的爱好，或是花费更多时间与你的朋友在一起，做一些“方便快捷”的活动。像是看一场电影，出席一场音乐会，与一个总是逗你发笑的人来回的发短信 。你可以做任何事，只要他们可以引发你的兴趣，或是能让你大笑或微笑。</p>
<p><strong>志愿工作</strong></p>
<p>经常性的做一些帮助他人的事，可以带来愉悦的感觉，并且从中获得社交的技艺。送人玫瑰，手有余香。</p>
<p>现在你都了解了，有七种很好的、很全面的见解可以作为寻找乐观情绪的准则。我敢说你现在一定在思考了，然后你会提出一些新颖的观点。如果你真的这样做了，与我们分享他们吧……拜托！</p>

<p>Cui Shuliang is the founder of 51sleep.com, a major online advice solution for those yearning for a sound sleep. Formerly an IT technician, he found many of his peers suffering badly from poor sleep quality.</p>
<p>"Each morning, I would hear complaints about someone who kept waking up during the night, while someone else had to spend all night fighting for sleep. So I got the idea to set up a website to help those missing sleep. Then I found it was really a large group that is in need of professional sleep advice."</p>
<p>Pressed by busy city life, more and more urban residents in China are suffering from sleep problems ranging from insomnia to narcolepsy. Some people may be able to fall asleep, but spend the whole time in terror.</p>
<p>A survey conducted by the Chinese Sleep Research Society shows that more than 42% of the country's population is disturbed by sleep disorders, which can result in lowered awareness and less productive days. Severe insomnia can even lead to psychiatric problems.</p>
<p>Professor Zhang Xi, deputy director of the organization, says the focus for this year's World Sleep Day will be on scientific access to sleep.</p>
<p>"We stress a scientific management of sleep, which includes boosting public awareness about sleep hygiene, and helping professionals improve their knowledge and clinical experiences with diseases related to sleep problems."</p>
<p>Professor Zhang Xi explained that the causes of sleep disorders differ among cases, but more than 80% of his patients had trouble in sleeping due to tension.</p>
<p>"That's why we suggest practitioners give special attention to sleep problems, since there remains a hidden danger in the patient's physical and mental condition. On the other hand, people with sleep problems should learn how to ease their mind and relax their nerves. Staying mentally and physically healthy, plus having a healthy daily routine, is the best way to realize a sound sleep."</p>
<p>With the economic recession and employment tension, pressure may have an even firmer grip on the lives of many. <p>Play is important no matter what your age. Play is so important, in fact, that Dutch historian Johan Huizinga (1872-1945) once described it as the defining characteristic of our species. For Huizinga, humanity is notable not as Homo sapiens, “wise people”, but Homo ludens, “playful people”.<br/><br/><strong>Play, What Is It Good For?!</strong></p>
<p>Absolutely everything, as it turns out.</p>
<p>Of course play is good for our health. A lot of play involves exercise, which is a good thing in and of itself, but there’s more to it than that. Play relieves stress, easing relaxation. Play releases a whole range of feel-good chemicals in the brain, which not only make play fun but relieves tension across the whole of our bodies. Feeling pressure? Get up and dance!</p>
<p>Play’s good for our brains, too. Play lights up the entire right side of our brain like a barrel of Light Brites, creating a state of hyper-creativity that quite literally changes the way we see the world. In this mind-set, nothing is just what it seems – things take on new forms (is that an empty Red Bull can next to your trash can, or is it a marooned space capsule on the Lost Planet of Garbagania?), problems seem not just solvable but trivial (wrap a towel around your neck and fly over them!), and we feel empowered to take on the world. Dum dum DAAAAAHHHH!</p>
<p>Play unites our mind and bodies. In play, the gap between physical sensation and mental sensation is bridged – transforming random movements into acts of derring-do. See Charlie Brown raking leaves. Feel body hurtling through air. Sense whoosh of leaves scattering beneath your body. Hear old Chuck’s plaintive “good grief!” It just feels good. Leave your detachment at home (praise the Great Pumpkin it’s detachable!)</p>
<p>Play creates social bonds. There’s evidence that the earliest social bonds we make – those between our infant selves and our parents – are primarily playful ones. The newborn infant doesn’t encounter other people as people but just as extensions of self that are more-or-less reliable. As the infant develops a sense of its own identity and begins to recognize other people as beings with identities of their own, it begins to learn play and sociality at the same time. Enter mom or dad, leaning down and making googly-eyes at the smiling baby – bam! Sociality achieved.</p>
<p>That doesn’t go away as we get older – play is still a rock-solid foundation for social behavior. It’s why people who can’t stand each other can bond over a company softball game or round of pick-up mud football in the park. Tomorrow might be back to the same old everyday loathing, but for today… (And maybe tomorrow will be different, after all!)<br/><br/><strong>Can You Come Out and Play?</strong></p>
<p>When’s the last time you played? I mean, really played. Not just a half-hearted round of Minesweeper during a meeting, or a couple of Sudokus in a magazine at the dentist’s office.</p>

<p>We get to feeling so darn serious, it’s hard to play, to let ourselves play. You know your life has gone down an evil, evil path (the Dark Side is strong, but… well, it’s Dark. Duh!) when playing makes you embarrassed. Even when you’re alone.</p>
<p><strong>I’d suggest you fix that.</strong></p>
<p>Fortunately, there’s an easy and proven effective remedy for play deprivation and seriousitis: go out and play! Come on, you know how! That’s right, shake your booty, do a gold miner dance, flail your arms around your head like a squid-person, tell your secretary you love her but you’re not a cannibal and interfaith relationships are so difficult – do something downright goofy. That’s an order, soldier!</p>
<p>And here’s the thing: spending some profoundly non-serious time with yourself or with others may well make you better at all that serious stuff that’s been sucking at your soul and preventing you from playing in the first place. You’ll feel better, be more relaxed, and enjoy more creativity – which unless you’re a drill sergeant in a Vietnam-era coming of age story, can’t help but make the rest of your life that much better.</p>

<p>A credit score can tell a lender a lot about a prospective borrower, but so can the borrower's looks, a new study says.</p>
<p>People who are perceived to be trustworthy are more likely to have a higher credit score and pay lower interest rates on loans, and are less likely to default, according to the study by Rice University in Houston, Texas.</p>
<p>Even when hard facts such as credit scores are available, people rely on an assessment of trustworthiness to decide whether to make a loan.</p>
<p>"It turns out that if you look trustworthy, you're more likely to get a loan," said Jefferson Duarte, a professor of real estate finance at Rice University, one of the study's authors.</p>
<p>Duarte and co-authors Stephan Siegel and Lance Young, of the University of Washington in Seattle, studied members of Prosper.com, an online lending site where people looking for loans are matched up with individual lenders.</p>
<p>Each Prosper.com loan applicant submitted a profile which included credit and work history, education level, income and an optional photograph of themselves for lender review.</p>
<p>More than 6,800 loan applications, 2,579 loans and 12,200 photographs from Prosper.com were used in the study.</p>
<p>Duarte hired a team of 25 people to rate the applicants' trustworthiness on a scale of one to five using only the photographs of the borrowers. The team also judged the probability that the borrowers would repay a $100 loan.</p>
<p>Those judged to be trustworthy by the team were more likely to get a loan from Prosper.com lenders and tended to have a credit score about 20 points higher than those determined to be untrustworthy, the researchers found.</p>
<p>"Untrustworthy" borrowers were seven percent more likely to default on their loan than a perceived trustworthy borrower with the same credit score.</p>
<p>"There is an array of information that you can get out of the pictures," Duarte said, adding that Prosper.com borrowers use photographs ranging from family portraits to snapshots of their <a  href="javascript:;" target="_self"><u><strong>pets</strong></u></a>.</p>
<p>"The pictures are revealing something about the behavior of these people that is not taken into account in the credit score model," Duarte said.</p>
<p>To make sure that the evaluators' prejudices did not skew the results, the researchers controlled for race, age, gender, obesity, attractiveness and education, as well as financial factors like employment status, income and homeownership.</p>
<p>Understanding what determines trustworthiness may be relevant to the current economic crisis and be the key in restoring trust in the markets, Duarte said.</p>
<p>"People don't trust the markets right now. The people don't trust the banks, the banks don't trust themselves ... trustworthiness seems to be really important in every single transaction and we need to pay attention to this concept," he said.</p>

Where he came from, how long he has been here, what is this thing or person called God? Have you read anything about him, do you think its true or you have given it no thought? In this quiet place that you have made for yourself, position yourself on your knees that are your start.</p>

<p>Some people with autism have amazed experts with their outstanding memories, mathematical skills or musical talent. Now scientists have found that the genes thought to cause autism may also confer mathematical, musical and other skills on people without the condition.</p>
<p>The finding has emerged from a study of autism among 378 Cambridge University students, which found the condition was up to seven times more common among mathematicians than students in other disciplines. It was also five times more common in the siblings of mathematicians.</p>
<p>If confirmed, it could explain why autism - a disability that makes it hard to communicate with, and relate to, others - continues to exist in all types of society. It suggests the genes responsible are usually beneficial, causing the disease only if present in the wrong combinations. “Our understanding of autism is undergoing a transformation,” said Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, director of the autism research centre at Cambridge, who led the study.</p>
<p>“It seems clear that genes play a significant role in the causes of autism and that those genes are also linked to certain intellectual skills.”</p>
<p>Scientists have long been intrigued by the apparent association between autism and intellectual gifts in specific fields. This has made autism a hot topic in popular culture, from films such as Rain Man, which starred Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, to books such as The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.</p>
<p>Some people with autism have become renowned for their creativity. The British artist Stephen Wiltshire, 34, was mute as a child and diagnosed with classic autism. He began drawing at the age of five and soon completed cityscapes. One of his feats was to draw a stunningly detailed panoramic view of Tokyo from memory after a short helicopter ride. He has since opened a gallery.</p>
<p>Autism and the related Asperger’s syndrome are among the commonest mental afflictions, affecting about 600,000 Britons. Boys are four times as likely as girls to develop it. Autistic people can have special skills but they also tend to suffer from anxiety, obsessive behaviour and other problems that far outweigh any advantages.</p>
<p>The fact that autism runs in families shows that it is partly genetic in origin, but evolutionary theory suggests genes causing such a debilitating conditions ought to have been weeded out of the population. The Cambridge study hints at why this has not happened, suggesting that with variations in the way they are combined, such genes are beneficial.</p>
<p>On their own, such studies have to be treated cautiously because the numbers involved are small. In the Cambridge study, seven of 378 maths students were found to be autistic, compared with only one among the 414 students in the control group.</p>
<p>Other studies, however, have found similar patterns. Baron-Cohen, whose cousin Sacha Baron Cohen is the comic actor behind the Ali G and Borat characters, said: “Separate studies have shown that the fathers and grandfathers of children with autism are twice as likely to work in engineering. Science students also have more relatives with autism than those in the humanities.”</p>
<p>His research, set out last week in a meeting at the Royal Society, coincides with separate research showing nearly a third of people with autism may have “savant” skills.</p>
<p>Patricia Howlin, professor of clinical child psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London, studied 137 people with autism; 39 of them (29%) possessed an exceptional mental skill. The most common was outstanding memory.</p>
<p>She said: “It had been thought that only about 5%-10% of people with autism had such skills, but nobody had measured it properly, and it seems the number is far higher. If we could foster these skills, many more people with autism could live independently and even become high achievers.”</p>
<p>The idea that autism may have positive aspects is finding favour among some of those with the condition. Some resent being labelled disabled and have begun describing those without autism as “neurotypicals” to make the point that they could be the ones missing out.</p>
<p>Professor Allan Snyder, director of the centre for the mind at the University of Sydney, said: “Autism ranges from the classical picture of severe mental impairment at one end of the spectrum to Nobel prize-win-ning genius at the other. Both extremes have core autistic features, such as preoccupation with detail, obsessional interests and difficulties in understanding other people’s perspectives.”</p>
<p>Temple Grandin, 61, was diagnosed with autism as a child and is now professor of animal sciences at Colorado State University. She said: “People with autism have played a vital role in human evolution and culture. Before computers it would have taken someone with an autistic-type memory to design great cathedrals, while scientists such as Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein show every sign of having been autistic. The world owes a great deal to those who design and programme computers, many of whom show autistic traits.”</p>

						<p>Being part of a botnet is no fun. Your computer becomes your worst enemy, watching everything you do, collecting all of your secrets, and then delivering all that data to the bot-herder; the person who originated the network. But what does it really mean to be part of a botnet, and is there anything that can you do about it?</p>
						<p>According to a report today from The Associated Press, Internet security company Prevx recently discovered a Web site that was being used as a storage facility for data stolen from 160K infected computers, and the discovery offers an interesting case study.</p>
						<p>The storage site was hosted in the Ukraine and its contents showed that the botnet was harvesting data. Information found included passwords, social security numbers, credit card numbers, addresses, telephone numbers and other personal information; quite a treasure chest if you're into identity theft.</p>
						<p>"One Southern California 22-year-old could be seen registering a domain name with<br/>GoDaddy.com, changing his Yahoo e-mail password and ordering a meal online from Pizza Hut. His credit card number, birth date, telephone number, address and passwords are now all in criminals' hands, though it's unclear what, if anything, criminals have done with the information yet," the AP notes.</p>
						<p>But it wasn't just individuals that were targeted. According to the article, both government and bank sites had also been compromised. The Associated Press contacted one bank customer whose Social Security number and other personal details were compromised during the attack, only to learn that he hadn't been notified by the bank.<br/>Determine whether your PC is part of a botnet</p>
						<p>So how can you tell if you're machine is part of a botnet and what can you do about it?</p>
						<p>Statistically, Macs are safe from botnets, although not completely immune to all threats as we noted here. But if you have a Windows based machine, Prevx suggests you stay on the lookout for an Internet connection that seems inexplicably slow when you are online as it may be that a botnet infection is using your connection to send or receive data.</p>
						<p>"If this happens, stop surfing, close your email software (e.g. Outlook) and try and open Task Manager by pressing the CTRL, ALT and Delete keys at the same time then selecting Task Manager," the company wrote on its blog recently. "When Task manager opens click on the Network tab and see if your PC is using the internet network connection, if it shows more than a few percent usage then this could be further evidence of something using your internet connection without your knowledge."</p>
						<p>Prevx also suggests downloading another security product if you are suspicious, and recommends you use an alternative security product. "If your PC is infected then it is almost certain that your existing security product has already let you down."</p>

						<p>该网站主机在乌克兰，其内容显示该僵尸网络一直在收集数据，包括密码、社保号、信用卡号、地址、电话号以及其它个人信息；如果你对身份盗窃感兴趣，这里可是你的天堂。</p>
						<p>“你可以看到一个南加州的22岁小伙儿正在GoDaddy.com注册了一个域名，然后修改了雅虎邮箱的密码，接着从必胜客订餐。他的信用卡号、生日、电话号、地址和密码都掌握在犯罪分子手中，但是至于犯罪分子利用这些信息做过什么还不太清楚。”美联社报道称。</p>
						<p>但是受到攻击的不仅是个人，政府和银行网站也没能幸免于难。美联社联系了一位受到黑客攻击的银行客户，却发现他并没收到银行的通知。</p>
						<p><br/>确定你的电脑是否陷入了僵尸网络</p>
						<p>那么如何判断是否受到僵尸网络的攻击呢？该如何应对呢？</p>
						<p>一般来说Mac机更安全，但也不能保证万无一失。但如果你有一台Windows电脑，Prevx建议你留意网速特别慢的情况，或许僵尸网络正在通过你的网络连接收发数据。</p>
						<p>该公司在其博客上写道：“如果网速很慢，关掉邮件客户端（比如Outlook），同时按下CTRL，ALT和Delete键打开任务管理器，切换到网络连接选项，看电脑是否在使用网络，如果上面显示网络连接超过几个百分点，那么很可能有人在你不知情的情况下使用你的网络连接。”</p>

<p>Dr David Batty, a Wellcome Trust research fellow at the MRC Social and Public Health Sciences Unit in Glasgow, and colleagues, found that a lower IQ was strongly associated with a higher risk of death from causes such as accidents, coronary heart disease and suicide.</p>
<p>The researchers studied data from one million Swedish men conscripted to the army at the age of 18. After they had taken into account whether a person had grown up in a safer, more affluent environment, they found that only education had an influence on the relationship between IQ and death.</p>
<p>The researchers say the link between IQ and mortality could be partially attributed to the healthier behaviours displayed by those who score higher on IQ tests.</p>

<p>"People with higher IQ test scores tend to be less likely to smoke or drink alcohol heavily, they eat better diets, and they are more physically active. So they have a range of better behaviours that may partly explain their lower mortality risk," says Dr Batty.</p>
<p>Previous studies have suggested that preschool education programmes and better nourishment can raise IQ scores. The study suggests this may also have previously unforeseen health benefits, further validating government efforts to improve living conditions and education.</p>
<p>Dr Batty suggests there may also be benefits from simplifying health information for the public.</p>
<p>"If you believe the association between IQ and mortality is at least partially explained by people with a lower IQ having worse behaviours - which is plausible - then it might be that the messages used to change health behaviours are too complicated," he says.</p>
<p>"Messages about diet, including how much or what type of alcohol is beneficial, aren't simple, and the array of strategies available for quitting smoking are diverse and actually quite complicated. If you clarify the options available to people who want to, say, quit smoking, in the short term that may have an effect."</p>
<p>A second study, also co-authored by Dr Batty, used data from more than 4000 US soldiers and followed them for 15 years. 	<p>到外贸其实不需要专八证。专八都是用来唬不諳内情的人。你考个六级就差不多了，工作经验最重要。如果没有经验，起码要自信，胆子大。搞培训也不需要专八，是驴子是马开口便知，你难道不知道到新东方教<a target="_blank"><u><strong>雅思</strong></u></a>不需要考过雅思吗？当翻译的话，如果没有法律，金融或其他专业背景，只能找层次一般的翻译公司，薪酬不会太高。还不如总秘和助理之类的职位挣钱。</p>
	<p>总之，你发光的程度取决于你的态度，只要用心做事在哪儿都会感到幸福。别听那名师给你讲什么技巧，别觉得考试有什么葵花宝典。你平时做事就别太功利，人活着就是要活得像个人样，活泼一点。在你最不期待的时候，说不定天上就会掉下糖果。</p>
	<p>后记：我看的不是电影，是介绍英国历史的纪录片，我不想只知道是什么，我还想知道为什么。看纪录片并不比做题轻松，我只想说明，任何时候都不要太功利。我只是坚持了我做事的方法。我不适应考前的训练，所以我选择这样复习。如果有人和我底子差不多寒假偷闲看看英文历史书和美国宪法介绍。既练了阅读，又扩大了视野。既过了考试，又真正提高了水平。</p>

	<p><strong>Vocabulary</strong></p>
	<p>大部分中国学生都有相同的错觉：口语不好的症结在于<a target="_blank"><u><strong>词汇</strong></u></a>量少，有了惊人的词汇量自然脱口而出另人羡慕的地道英语，因此便上演了老外都听不懂的惊眩 <a target="_blank"><u><strong>GRE</strong></u></a>口语秀之尴尬场景。诚然，词汇在任何一门外语的学习中其起着至关重要的作用，但是，仅有庞大的词汇量却不知如何正确运用，不明白“一词多意”在口语中的重要性，不了解其适用的场景，不深知其<a target="_blank"><u><strong>文化</strong></u></a>背景，实为口语学习的一大误区，甚至将成为“致命伤”。其实，一个美国农民掌握的英语单词不超过1000 个，但却能说一口非常流利的地道英语。相比较而言，CET4的词汇量是4000-5000，在日常口头交际中绰绰有余。所以千万不要因害怕词汇量不够而不敢开口。</p>
	<p><strong>Fluency and Coherence</strong></p>
	<p>英语口语要求在表达上达到fluency,所谓fluency就是指表达的流畅性、流利性。但是不能将流利和语速快混为一谈。有些同学一味地追求说得快，忽视了表达的连贯性（Coherence），致使逻辑混乱、语义衔接不顺，给人语无伦次之感。所以口语中，我们不仅要说得流利，更要保证思想表达的流畅性。</p>
	<p><strong>Input</strong></p>
	<p>听力和阅读是口语的输入源，帮助我们循序渐进地积累各种语言点(习语、俚语、句式等)。此外，听力听的是老外的口语，我们更是可以身临其境地感受其 “音质效果”（pronunciation，intonation and tone），并在听的基础上进行模仿（模仿的标准是越像越好，如果可与原版的语音语调如出一辙，定会得到最大的收获从而大大地促进口语的提高。）</p>
	<p>需要指出的是，在材料的选择上，应参照“难易适中”的标准。许多同学在<a target="_blank"><u><strong>英语学习</strong></u></a>上多多少少都抱着“一口吃个胖子”“一步登天”的心态，在初级阶段就手拿China Daily，耳灌“Standard <a target="_blank"><u><strong>VOA</strong></u></a>”，结果因看不懂报纸而心生反感，因听不懂新闻而心灰意冷，长此以往便失去学英语的信心，反而得不偿失。美国心理语言学家和教学方法教授 Krashen曾指出：学习外语，要集中解决的一个问题是CI（Comprehensible Input）, (Drashen 1981)。简单说来，就是提倡所输入信息的难易程度应为“1+1”，即在自己目前的水平上稍难一点，跨一步而不是跨两步才够得上的水平，所以80%易懂的材料是最佳选择。（在CET4-6或中级口译阶段，《21st Century》；《Reader Digest》都是不错的读物。）</p>
	<p><strong>Gramma</strong></p>
	<p>很多同学在口语的训练过程中过于注重语法的正误，因而造成说一句话要斟酌许久的情况。其实，口语对语法要求并不高，即使英语为母语的人也有“a slip of the tongue”(口误)的时候。语言的目的是为了交际，语法是为交际服务的。过于注重语法会造成心理障碍，当然置语法于不顾也是不对的，它是语言交际能力的一个重要组成部分。D.Hymes(1971)指出，仅仅语法正确（Grammatically correct）是不够的，还要看语言的运用在社交场合是否适当（Socially appropriate）。Hymes的这一观点在外语/第二外语教学界得到比较广泛的赞同。Canale和Swain（1980）发展了这种观点，把交际能力分为四个方面：语法运用能力(Grammatical Competence)，社会语言能力(Sociolinguistic Competence)，话语能力(Discourse Competence)和策略能力(Strategic Competence)。这不仅在于运用语言知识和技能去理解合乎语法规律的句子，更主要在于是否能在给定的环境下使用这些语言和技能去解决实际问题，达到交际的目的，这种交际能力的高低是外语素质的重要标志。</p>
	<p><strong>Culture</strong></p>
	<p>当口语学习进入成长期的末尾阶段，口语练习日见成效时，许多同学都暗自欣喜于自己流利的口语，此时此刻，慎记勿入“fluent-fool”（一口流利的Chinglish或是举止礼节不协调于西方文化）的怪圈，否则容易引起尴尬场景甚至受到老外的鄙视。只有努力挖掘了语言背后的文化背景与老外的思维方式，我们才在真正意义上驾驭了一门语言。这也是我在新东方听说特训班上着重强调的一面。</p>
	<p>一方面，老外的逻辑思维遵照“Time is the money.”的理念倾向于直奔主题、简明扼要。“先主后次，先亮观点再行论证，先出结果后述原因”的原则应被积极贯彻于我们的口语中，切勿以“犹抱琵琶半遮面”的羞怯、“欲说还休、欲言又止” 的含蓄对待老外，如此只会增加交流的屏蔽性。</p>
	<p>另一方面，深厚的英美文化功底为地道的口语、体面的谈吐奠定了最稳健的基石。从以下的事例中我们便会窥见其重要性：</p>
	<p>Taboo and Euphemism(禁忌与委婉语)在日常交流中来不得丝毫亵渎。譬如：Age、money、marital status、political tendency（年龄、收入、婚姻状况、<a target="_blank"><u><strong>政治</strong></u></a>倾向）在西方文化中都属于纯粹的个人隐私，决不可触及。又如，当要表示“去洗手间”的意思时，一般会用”I want to answer the nature’s call.”、”I want to go somewhere.” 、“I want to pay a visit to the john.”等委婉用法。另外，媒体用语则格外讲究委婉语的使用，如：</p>
	<p>Choice: pro-abortion<br/>Contributions: tax increase (Clinton actually used this, and the news media parroted it.)<br/>Physically challenged: handicapped<br/>Vertically challenged: short<br/>Low-income family: poor people<br/>Custodian engineer: floor sweeper<br/>（冒号前为委婉语）</p>

<p>We can’t articulate it, but we know a charming person when we see one. It’s that person at the party who seems to know everybody. He works the crowd with such ease and has a positive aura about him, and everybody just seems drawn to him like steel to a magnet. He leaves people thinking “What a great guy!” and seems to have it all together.</p>
<p>I would be a fool if I wrote an article on how to be charming if I wasn’t charming to begin with. I don’t mean to say I’m the most charming man on the face of the earth, but I do have my moments. I’ve reflected back on those moments, studied other charismatic people, read books on the subject, and asked other charismatic people to share their insights on this elusive trait. You know what I learned? Charisma is not genetic. It can be learned. On to the 8 <a  href="javascript:;" target="_self"><u><strong>tips</strong></u></a>.</p>
<p><strong>1. Get your own life in order first.</strong></p>
<p>When everything is going right in your life, the world is your oyster. You’re in the zone, you’re on top of the world, you feel invincible, like everything has fallen into place just for you. You don’t have a single worry in the world and you feel like singing and dancing in the rain. With this kind of mental state, it’s a double edged sword. It can lead you to become the most charismatic person in the world, or the most obnoxious and boastful person in the world (more on how to not be the latter later on in this article).</p>
<p>You cannot fake charisma if you have problems going on in your life, whether it’s trouble paying the bills, family issues, relationship problems, etc. That stuff will weigh you down.</p>
<p>Get your life in order. Pay the bills, save some money in the bank, forgive other people, don’t hold grudges, be courteous to all, resolve any issues you have with people, have a passion in life, have a dream you’re working on, eat right, exercise, etc. You will find that getting your act together will make it extremely easy for you to be charismatic, because then you can do the other half of what charismatic people do, and that is focus on the other person.</p>
<p><strong>2. Exercise</strong></p>
<p>Exercise before attending any event or gathering (and please shower afterwards :) ). It’ll give you the energy you need to emanate your glowing charm throughout the room. It’ll get you in the right mindset of a being a happy positive person because of the endorphins circulating in your body. It’ll give you that confidence to start socializing. You’ll be on your game. Everything will flow just right because you feel like a million bucks.</p>
<p>3. Wear the clothes</p>
<p>You know what clothes I’m talking about. Everybody’s got an outfit that makes them feel like a million bucks. We all know that clothes make you feel good. If you feel good, it’ll be really easy to make others feel good. And the less worried you are about your appearance, the more you can focus on the other person. The more content you are with yourself (aka self confident), the more easier it will be to turn on the charm.</p>
<p><strong>4. Pre-socialize</strong></p>
<p>I don’t know why it is, but if I have socialized prior to attending a gathering or event, I find it way easier to turn on the charm. What I mean by pre-socializing is just striking up conversations with any person you meet on the way to the event; the store clerk, the people on the elevator, the security guard, etc. Just some light conversation. Nothing heavy. How are you? Busy day today eh? I like your jacket. Do you mind me asking where you got it? I think pre-socializing gets you into the groove of easily being able to talk to any person, one of the key skills in becoming charming.</p>
<p>When you get to the event:</p>
<p><strong>5. Pretend you’re the host and talk to EVERYBODY</strong></p>
<p>This is a very cool paradigm to try out. Instead of standing in the corner, sipping your drink and hoping somebody will come talk to you, take the initiative and start talking with EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE. You can do this if you pretend to be the host of the event. Start by looking out for people who are trying to act cool, but are desperately wishing that someone would go talk to them. You know exactly who they are. Rescue them from their worries and you’ll see their face light up and thank you for approaching them. Work the crowd, ask how everyone’s doing. They will all light up and respond favorably. Get to know people and introduce people to other people. Most people don’t have the guts to approach strangers, so when you do it for them, they’ll be extremely grateful.</p>
<p>Don’t discriminate based on social groups. People are all the same. Talk to the skater, the artist, the economist, the stock broker, the lawyer, the doctor, the entrepreneur, the bartender, the guy standing in the corner, the waiter, everybody. Talk to everyone and make them feel welcome. You just need to get the ball rolling. Once you start talking to one stranger and get in the rhythm, you’ll be an unstoppable social butterfly.</p>
<p><strong>6. You, not I.</strong></p>
<p>Charming people focus on the other person. Rarely are they themselves the topic of discussion. When you’re out there schmoozing, listen to people when they talk to you and give them feedback to indicate that you are listening and that you understand. Be genuinely interested in the other person. Ask all about them. Always think of how you can help them. Send business their way. Hook them up with other people at the party you think they might get along well with.</p>
<p><strong>7. Make them feel good.</strong></p>
<p>Give people genuine compliments. Everybody needs compliments like food and water because everybody’s self esteem can always use a little boost. Don’t go for the cliché compliments like everyone else. Remember, you’re the charismatic one. You’ve got to step it up a notch. Think of a genuine killer compliment.</p>
<p>Also, don’t forget to use the power of touch. A hormone called oxytocin is secreted when you touch someone and studies have shown that promotes bond and trust between people. Oxytocin is also a feel good hormone so when they get hit with it, they associate that good feeling with you as well. Obviously, use your better judgment here. Don’t go up and start molesting people. Be tactful with your touch. You will find that women are the masters of this. They will lightly tap your forearm when making a point or playfully hit your shoulder when engaged in conversation with you.</p>
<p>People tend to remember conversations with people who use the power of touch. I remember going to one event and being charmed off the socks with this one guy. He had it going. He was working the crowd, he saw me, introduced himself, and started to ask all sorts of questions about me. I, in turn, shamelessly succumbed to his charm and divulged a lot of information and we both had good laughs. You know why I remember him out of all the other people I interacted with that day? It’s because he squeezed my arm when he shook my hand. No joke. That’s how I remembered him. As the charming guy who squeezed my arm. Touch is a very powerful thing. Use it wisely.</p>
<p><strong>8. Be positive.</strong></p>
<p>Smile. Charming people are known for making people feel way better after interacting with them. They have a light feathery touch to them that brings smiles and good feelings to everybody they come in contact with.</p>
<p>Talk about positive things. Avoid negative things. You’ll always run into people who turn a good conversation into a bad one by bringing up some negativity. If that happens, try to tactfully point out the positive aspects of the situation. If that fails, excuse yourself from the group and move on. There’s no need to be part of the down group.</p>
<p>Get your stuff together, exercise, put on those nice clothes, get in the habit of socializing with everyone, talk with everyone, really listen and keep the focus on them, make them feel good, only associate yourself with positive things and people, and you’ll find yourself being that one person who’s always lighting up the room.</p>

<p>要是我没有魅力却写一篇关于如何变得富有魅力的文章，这岂不荒唐！我并不是说我是世界上最有魅力的男人，但我确有魅力四射的时候。我回味那些时刻，研究其他富有魅力的人，读这方面的书籍，向其他拥有魅力的人请教。你知道我学到了什么吗？魅力不是天生的，而是可以学会的。这里有八个窍门。</p>
<p><strong>1. 先将生活纳入正规</strong></p>
<p>如果你的生活事事如意，你就可以随心所欲、尽得其乐。你得其所哉，你站在世界之巅，你无可匹敌，仿佛所有花儿都为你开放。在世间你没有一丝烦恼，你想要在雨中纵歌起舞。这种境界是把双刃剑，它能使你成为世上最有魅力的人，也能把你变成人间最无聊自负的人（后文将着重探讨如何避免这第二种情形）。</p>
<p>如果你的生活存在问题，你就无法装出拥有魅力的样子——无论你是无法付账，还是家庭琐事，或是关系问题等等，这些都会压得你挺不起腰。</p>
<p>让你生活走向正轨。付清账单、把钱存进银行、原谅他人、勿怀嫉妒、对所有人都彬彬有礼、解决掉人际关系中的所有问题、拥有生活的激情、拥有梦想并去追求、合理饮食、锻炼体魄等等。你会发现当你身体力行这些之后，拥有魅力真是小菜一碟，因为接下来你能去做其他有魅力的人所做的另一半事情——那就是关注他人。</p>
<p><strong>2. 运动</strong></p>
<p>参加任何活动或聚会前，先运动一下（然后请洗下澡:) ）。这会赐予你所需的能量，让你魅力四射。这也将让你处于快乐积极的精神状态中，因为内啡肽正在你的体内徘徊。这还会给你自信去开始社交活动。你将会发挥良好，诸事顺利，因为你感觉你像个大款。</p>
<p><strong>3. 着装</strong></p>
<p>你知道我要说的是什么样的衣服。人人都拥有一套服装，穿上去觉得自己就像大款。我们都知衣饰能让你自我感觉良好。如果你自我感觉良好，那就容易让他人感觉良好。而且你对自己外形的担忧越少，就越能把注意力放在别人身上。你对你自己越满意（亦称自信），就越容易施展魅力。</p>
<p><strong>4. 预交际</strong></p>
<p>我不知道为什么要这样，但如果我在参加聚会或活动之前先交际一下，我就能更容易地找到办法来施展魅力。我说预交际的意思就是在你去参加活动的途中先随便找个什么人交谈一下，如店员、电梯里的人、保安等等。就只是一些轻松的对话。不要是沉重话题。你怎么样？今天很忙，是吗？我喜欢你的外套。可以问一下你在哪儿买的吗？ 我认为预交际让你处于一种可以和任何人交谈的最佳状态，这是展现魅力的不二法门之一。</p>
<p>当你到达某次活动时：</p>
<p><strong>5. 装作主人的样子跟所有人交谈</strong></p>
<p>这是个很酷的套路，值得一试。不要缩在角落里，啜着饮料，守株待兔地等人说话。要反客为主，开始和所有人谈话，我是说和所有人。如果你装着自己就是这次活动的主人，你就能做到这一点。开始四周环顾，去找那些努力装得很酷、但却很想别人能找其交谈的人。你知道他们是正什么样的人。把他们从窘境中解脱出来，你就会看到他们的脸上变得神采奕奕，他们很感激你能接近他们。在人群中四处活动，向每个人问长问短。他们都会变得神采奕奕的，而且会友好地回应你。去认识人，然后把这些人介绍给那些人。大多数人没有勇气接触生人，因此当你为他们做这些后，他们会非常感激的。</p>
<p>不要根据社会圈子做出区别对待。所有人都是等同的。溜冰健将、<a  href="javascript:;" target="_self"><u><strong>艺术</strong></u></a>家、经济学家、 股票经纪人、律师、医生、企业家、站在角落里的家伙、服务生以及所有人，都同他们交谈。和所有人说话，并让他们感到宾至如归。你需要做的只是让事情开始运作起来。一旦你开始和生人说话，并能侃侃而谈，你就会成为一只永不停歇的社交蝴蝶。</p>
<p><strong>6. 是你，而非我</strong></p>
<p>有魅力的人会关注他人。他们自己很少是讨论的话题。若你在那儿看他们闲谈，当他们对你说话时，你要仔细听，并作出回应以表明你在正在听而且明白他们的意思。要真诚地对他人感兴趣。问有关他们的所有事情。总是想着怎样才能帮他们。按照他们的方式行事。为他们和聚会上你认为合得来的其他人进行牵线搭桥。</p>
<p><strong>7. 让他们得意</strong></p>
<p>真诚地去恭维别人。恭维如同水和食物，每个人都需要，因为每个人的自尊总能获得些许提高。不要向其他人那样使用些陈词滥调。要记住，你是个富有魅力的人。你必要要高人一等。要想出一个真正的有杀伤力的奉承话。</p>
<p>还有，别忘了触摸的力量。当你触摸某人时，身体会分泌出一种叫做催产素的荷尔蒙，研究显示这会增进人们之间的亲和与信任。催产素也是一种能产生好感的荷尔蒙，所以当别人分泌出催产素时，就会对你产生好感。显然，对此你要做出更好的判断，不要去骚扰别人，在触摸时要机智老练一些。你会发现女人们精于此道，当他们表明看法时会轻拍你的前臂，或者当他们在与你交谈时会开玩笑似的击一下你的肩膀。</p>
<p>人们往往会记住那些触摸过他们的人的谈话。我记得有一次去参加某个活动，就彻头彻尾被这样的一个家伙给征服得了。一切尽在他的掌握之中。他在人群中活动，看到我，就进行自我介绍，然后就问有关我的各种各样的问题。而反过来，我却被他的魅力所折服，扭捏不堪地倾倒出我的很多事情，我们都很畅快地笑着。在那天我同很多人接触，但你知道为什么我却唯独记得他？这是因为当他同我握手时，他捏住我的手臂。不是说笑。这就是我是如何记住他的——那个捏我手臂的魅力男。触摸很好很强大，要活学活用。</p>
<p><strong>8. 正面积极</strong></p>
<p>要笑。让别人在与你交流之后感觉舒畅很多，这正是富有魅力的人的看家本事。他们还有一种轻如羽翼的质感，那就是将微笑和良好感觉带给同他们接触过的所有人。</p>
<p>谈论积极的事物。要避免消极的东西。你总会遇到这样一些人：他们在交谈时带入一些消极因素，从而把一次愉快的谈话变得尴尬不欢。如果碰到这种情况，试着巧妙地指出事情的积极方面。要是无法挽回，那就借故告退，另寻他处，因为没必要成为这低级谈话圈的一部分。</p>
